Upgrading to Alfresco 2.2 would allow apps using CMA to use the latest Alfresco constants, etc.
Also, when using a version 2.2 target repository, this improvement *might* solve a problem with AccessDeniedExceptions that are thrown in Alfresco when trying to query for permissions (SecurityService.getPermissions(..)) on a node where the current user only has Consumer rights (I ran into a similar issue with AFS when upgrading from 2.1.1 to 2.1.2).
